Defense stood firm in a hard fought battle between the New York Red Bulls and Atlanta United.
Despite controlling possession (59.8%), the Red Bulls struggled in the attacking third, failing to register a single shot on goal. Meanwhile, Atlanta had plenty of opportunities, forcing New York goalkeeper Carlos Coronel to save seven shots on target. Coronel was up to the task, delivering a sensational performance to keep the match level.

Atlanta’s best chance arrived in the 16th minute when Matthew Edwards delivered a dangerous cross into the box, narrowly missing the outstretched foot of Emmanuel Latte Lath.
The Red Bulls nearly found a breakthrough later in the match when a chaotic sequence left Noah Eile with a golden opportunity, but his shot sailed over the bar, squandering New York’s best look of the night.
Looking ahead, the Red Bulls return home to face Orlando City next weekend, while Atlanta prepares to host Miami in their first matchup since last season’s playoffs.
